Welcome to Madeley Academy
We are an 11-16 Secondary school and specialist sports college, based in the historic mining town of Madeley in Telford. The school site covers 55 acres and resembles a university campus with rolling woodland interspersed with large playing fields.
The site is shared with both the Madeley Sports Centre and the Madeley Ski Slope, enabling us to offer our students a wide range of facilities to help them in their learning.
In September 2003 Madeley Court School, in federation with Thomas Telford School began a transformation that has established the school as one of the most successful in the region. We recently initiated an ongoing refurbishment program to allow us to enhance and maintain our facilities, and provide the best environment possible for staff and students.
Our designation as a specialist sports college has allowed us to offer our students marvellous opportunities in Physical Education and Sports. It also enables all subjects to benefit from the increased funding which is directed to improving teaching and learning in the school. As a result, we are bringing new resources and opportunities into the school which will further enrich the academic life of our students.
In April 2007, we achieved Academy status which will help to maintain the improvements being made and continue the partnership with Thomas Telford School, as the school moves into another exciting period of development.
This is being continued and expanded upon with the construction of a brand new building to replace our current site, allowing staff and students the opportunity to teach and learn in a state of the art facility and make the best possible advances with their education.
